Fresh Forward Farms’ member growers

Think about the apple in your refrigerator or in the fruit bowl on your counter. Do you know where it grew? We’d like to think it came from one of Fresh Forward Farms’ member growers.

And really, it isn’t that big of a dream.

Our Fresh Forward Farms’ member growers might be small, family-run farms that are local to those who live in the Midwest and Great Lakes region, but their reach is big.

We ship apples – and other delicious, fresh fruits and vegetables – all over the country. We sell our produce to retailers as big as Wal-Mart and as small as the farm stand down the road.

So that apple you are serving to your family? It’s likely it grew nearby.

How can we do this, you ask? Our Fresh Forward Farms’ member growers are a family farm cooperative. Our mission is to improve access to locally grown produce. We work with independent farmers in a partnership that lets them sell their delicious wares in more places.

We want Fresh Forward Farms’ member growers to succeed and we do that by helping them sell more – so they can continue to grow and thrive.

So we are local – but we also have a large reach. We partner together so we can fulfill large-scale wholesale orders but our member partners also sell at their own locations as well.

It’s unique and adds strength to our member growers’ business plans. For you, the consumer, it simply means you get the freshest produce – that wasn’t grown too far away.

We have partnerships with schools, grocery stores, big box retailers, farmers markets and more.

And our cooperation also means we can keep our member growers up-to-date on the latest technology, food safety measures, UPC codes and other industry standards – meaning you can rest assured your food is safe – and healthy and delicious.
